RNA – In a meeting with officials from the office of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in the IRGC, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani said that the clergy have had a great influence on the development and realization of the Islamic Revolution, just as they have had an important role in protecting the Islamic Revolution.
“It is said in the Holy Quran what we should protect that which we have been given by God. This Revolution was also a divine gift and protecting it is the duty of the clergy and scholars,” he said.
The revered source of emulation emphasized that in Islam, the scholars and clergy have a very important task and added that a scholar has a strong influence on society and they have a heavy responsibility to engage in propagation and enlightenment because at all times, revolution necessitates propagation and enlightenment.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said that the enemies are striving to remove religion from the life of the people and added, “They claimed that religion refers to prayer and fasting and through this means, they have sought to separate religion from politics but after a while they introduced religion as the opium of the people.”
His Eminence said that the Islam, the people and Wilayat al-Faqih (Guardianship of the Jurisprudent) are the three pillars of the Islamic Revolution and noted that Imam Khomeini brought Islam into the lives of people. “The people who were humiliated by the tyranny of the enemies supported the Revolution and with their assistance, an Islamic system of governance replaced a monarchy,” he added.
The teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom emphasized on recognizing the real face of the imperial powers and said that before the Islamic Revolution, people looked positively at the United States and the West such that they thought that Iran will achieve progress and civilization by following the West.
“However, Imam Khomeini pulled the veil aside and introduced the true face of the imperialist and destroyed the people’s sense self-denial in relation to the West and gave the people a sense of self-reliance,” the Iranian cleric said.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said that recognition of the Zionists is also necessary because people must know that Israel is the centre of the imperialists and until this regime exists, this regime will not have any peace.
“Some countries in the region have expressed that as long as Iran and the Islamic Revolution exists, the entire world will be insecure while Iran is on the side of the weak and oppressed of the world and the enemy of the oppressors of the whole world because Islam knows no boundaries,” he concluded.
