RNA – “If you (Donald Trump) want to pursue the same crazy approach, you will have the same fate as former US presidents,” Tehran’s provisional Friday prayer leader, Ayatollah Sayyed Ahmad Khatami, said in an address to worshippers at the University of Tehran, noting that the previous presidents are hated by people.
He also cautioned Trump against any measure against the Islamic Republic, stressing that Iranians have always shown resistance in face of arrogant and bullying powers’ threats.
Ayatollah Khatami further expressed the hope that Trump will come to his senses and avoid creating more tensions in the world as he has pledged in his speech after winning the US election.
Elsewhere, the senior Iranian cleric noted that the Islamic Republic has always respected voters and their choices around the world, and criticized the US, which portrays itself as the champion of democracy, for not recognizing Bashar al-Assad, who secured 70 percent of the votes in the June 2014 elections, as the legitimate president of Syria.
Republican Donald Trump stunned the world by defeating Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House on Tuesday, ending eight years of Democratic rule.
