RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers in Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Seyyed Hashem Hoseyni-Bushehri referred to the events of November 4th, which marks the anniversary of the 1979 takeover of the American embassy in Tehran by Iranian revolutionary students.
The representative of the people of Bushehr in the Assembly of Experts explained that the exile of Imam Khomeini and the killing of students were blows against the Iranian nation by the US and wounded the hearts of the people but the takeover of the “Den of Spies” was a great blow to the US by the Iranian people and shattered their influence in Iran.
He added if the enemies were given the opportunity, they would once again repeat the 1953 coup d’état. After the takeover of the “Den of Spies,” Imam Khomeini praised the students for their “good actions” and emphasized that this work should be regarded as a “second revolution” as it was a manifestation of the anti-imperialism of the Islamic Revolution.
Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri pointed to the black record of the US and noted some of the many “disgraceful” actions that they were involved in – including the 1953 coup, the creation of SAVAK, their support of terrorist groups, their launching of the Iran-Iraq War, their support of the Saudis in their war against Yemen, their support for the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people.
“Since World War II, the US has attacked 50 countries, launched coup d’états in 53 countries and imposed economic sanctions on 20 countries,” he said.
The member of the Supreme Council of Islamic Seminaries referred to the current situation in the US in regard to the statements made by the two presidential candidates, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, and said, “That which we hear is astonishing – it is obvious that within the US, a strange crisis is occurring.”
Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri added that Trump has said that the US has a $19 trillion debt while many places in the country do not have basic facilities adding that in regard to social issues, the US is in crisis and that African-Americans are living in hell and questioned if the US is a war-torn country because 4,000 people have been killed during the Obama presidency.
“Such statements come from American officials themselves and not from Iranian officials,” he added.
Referring to regional developments, Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri expressed happiness that Iraqi forces have entered Mosul and hoped for the defeat of the Takfiri terrorists in Mosul as well as in the Syrian city of Aleppo.
