RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Ayatollah Mahmoud Rajabi referred to the upcoming anniversary the 1979 takeover of the American embassy in Tehran by Iranian students belonging to the Muslim Student Followers of the Imam’s Line and stressed the need to continue the fight against imperialism.
“The record of the United States since the events of November 4th, 1979 and its continuation until today has shown that the most ardent enemy of Iran’s Islamic system of government, pure Muhammadan Islam and our people is the US,” he said.
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom added that given the current situation, with the media which is under the control of the US and the mercenaries who cooperate with them in the Middle East, as well as writers and some thinkers who seek to promote the US in a positive light, showing the true face of the US and explaining Israel’s crimes against our people is a necessity.
Ayatollah Rajabi said that one way of demonstrating our power and expressing the unity of our nation is our opposition to US and stated: “They must know that Iran still has a sense of animosity toward the imperialist powers of the world and will defend its Islamic system from the imperialist powers at any cost,” he said.
The teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom said the attribution of the problems that Iran faces to the imperialist powers is not correct and stressed that opposition to imperialism is one of the main principles of human reason, human nature and religious teachings and this is not something that can be forgotten.
He explained that anti-imperialism means to stand against the oppressors and an anti-imperialist must resist the enemies and not fall under their dominance and added, “For every step we take backward, the imperialists take one step forward.”
Ayatollah Rajabi referred to Iran’s negotiations with the P5+1 group of countries over its nuclear program and said that most of the world has allied with the imperialist powers and that it is clear that Iran has adhered to all of its commitments to the JCPOA but the imperialist powers still refuse to fulfill their obligations.
His Eminence said that if it was such that Iran’s problems could be solved by putting its principles of anti-imperialism aside, perhaps it could be accommodated but the imperialist powers want to take away Iran’s religious principles and our Islamic system and for us to become like the US-allied regimes of old in a new form.
