RNA – In an interview, Ayatollah Abbas Ka’bi spoke of the anniversary of the great and historic capture of the American embassy in Tehran by the Muslim Student Followers of the Imam’s Line which began on November 4, 1979. “The capture of the American ‘Den of Spies’ nation revived the spirit of anti-imperialism among the Iranian people,” he said.
The representative of Khuzestan in the Assembly of Experts stated that the American embassy was transformed into a base to plot against the Iranian nation and added that with the actions that the United States perpetrated at the embassy and directed, it became clear that the US is the enemy of Islam and the principles of independence, freedom and justice of people of Iran and seeks to destroy these principles.
He said that with their recognition of the opportunities and the enemies, along with their vision and courage, these Iranian university students were able to defeat the American Den of Spies and through this means, they were able to announce that the foremost and greatest enemy of the Iranian nation is the criminal US.
Ayatollah Ka’bi said that documents discovered in the Den of Spies and later released showed that the instead of engaging in normal diplomatic affairs, the US was spying on Iran and creating and launching a coup d’état against the nascent Islamic Revolution.
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom added that these documents proved that the US is a symbol of imperialism, oppression and domination on the basis of its lies against Iran’s nation’s freedom and independence.
His Eminence explained that the late Imam Khomeini cleverly called the US the “Great Satan” and added that the US is still the Great Satan.
Ayatollah Ka’bi added that with God’s grace, the Iranian nation and the vigilant youth of this land were victorious and were able to defeat the American puppet Pahlavi regime.
