RNA – In a meeting with in a group of police officers at Qom’s Imam Khomeini Education and Research Institute, Ayatollah Mohammad-Taqi Mesbah-Yazdi said that some say that the police forces in other countries perform their duties well because of strict laws and the security of the forces and that in those countries, a culture of order exists but we need to know that even if there are shortcomings in Iran’s police forces, the situation in many countries is much worse and there is much corruption.
The head of Imam Khomeini Education and Research Institute stated that the security which Iran enjoys is better than the security of any country in the world and is much greater than any neighbouring country and stressed that Iran’s security is better than those countries which claim to be advanced and enjoy high security.
“Despite the fact that there are some imperfections, Iran’s security is unparalleled in the world,” he said.
Ayatollah Mesbah-Yazdi said that Iran and some other countries share the common factors of adherence to religious values and added that it may be said that although certain Christian-majority countries are not Muslim but nevertheless, they adhere to similar religious values.
“It must not be forgotten that they are the values that the divine prophets brought to humankind and these values that are institutionalized among the people are not insignificant and even polytheists have certain values which they are bound to observe,” he said.
He said that wherever the adherence to religious values is stronger, there is greater security, altruism, benevolence and mercy. “Where such values are not strong it is because the foundations of the people’s beliefs and values are weak,” he said.
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom said that the United States is a prime example of extreme liberal thinking and said, “Nowhere in the world is there such promiscuity and the failure of moral values as in the US and this can be seen in the statements and advertisements of the two American presidential candidates.”
Ayatollah Mesbah-Yazdi stressed that the US wants to promote this type of culture in the Islamic Republic of Iran and yet some officials say that the US is a civilized country and should be considered as a model for development in Iran.
In conclusion, His Eminence stated that there is no way to prevent corruption and deviation except by strengthening religious principles and values and if we want peace, security and healthy families, we must adhere to religion as we cannot replace religion.
