RNA – During his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers in Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Ali-Reza Arafi stressed that Iran’s young university students must be revolutionary and not be indifferent to the superpowers of the world or be intimidated by their power.
The head of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran also expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Iranian people and to the world for commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Husayn in a sincere manner but added, “Unfortunately, extremist groups, who have been provoked by the Israelis and the Saudis, have objected to mourning ceremonies which commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Husayn.”
He stressed that mourning for Imam Husayn is not limited to only Shi’ahs but rather it is for all Muslims and free people of the world and added that these mourning ceremonies have been the scenes of blood and martyrdom this year, including in Nigeria and Afghanistan, which were the sites of deadly terrorist attacks.
Ayatollah Arafi added, “We declare our solidarity with the victims of these tragedies.”
The dean of al-Mustafa International University addressed the Israelis, the Saudis and those who cannot tolerate the illuminated truth of Ashura, saying, “You must realize that the slogan of Iran and the Shi’ahs and Muslims of the world is the slogan of ‘woe unto the wretched’ and we stand against your aggression and plots and will never give in. By relying on mourning for Imam Husayn, we will stand against all the oppressors of the world.”
His Eminence said that Shi’ah and Sunni youths have amassed around the Iraqi city of Mosul to destroy the seditionist Takfiri terrorists who have occupied the city and added, “Unfortunately, the US and Saudi Arabia and some other regional powers do not want the roots of corruption and extremist terrorists to be destroyed.”
Ayatollah Arafi added that now that forces have gathered in Mosul and Aleppo to eradicate terrorism, the US and Saudi Arabia have come and do not want these sources of corruption to be eliminated because they want to create dissension in the Islamic ummah through these terrorists and to harm Islamic societies.
“Iraqi and Syrian warriors must stand on their own feet and continue their path by relying on God’s grace so they can defeat the plots of the imperialist powers, the Americans, the Saudis and Israelis,” Qom’s Friday prayer leader said.
