RNA – During a meeting with the chairman of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad-Hoseyn Mokhtari in Qom, Iran, Grand Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi-Amoli referred to Iran’s eight years of Sacred Defense during the Iran-Iraq War and added, “Today, we are witnessing more and more proxy wars in the Middle East. These are the same countries that were fighting us during the Iran-Iraq War. Fortunately, With God’s help, Iran could come out victorious after the eight-year-long war.”
The senior Shi’a cleric further said, “Today, more than before, one of our key tasks is to engage in bring the Islamic schools of thought closer together and I really hope that the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought engages in practical measures in order to bring about Islamic unity in the Muslim ummah.”
