RNA – A group of seminary students in Najaf, Iraq, were granted turbans by Grand Ayatollah Bashir al-Najafi in a ceremony held on Eid al-Ghadir on Saturday, September 2.
During the ceremony, Ayatollah al-Najafi stated, “The genuine form of Islam is the one which was announced at the pond of Khumm by the Prophet Muhammad and has been passed on to us through the Ahlul-Bayt. That is why most of the attacks carried out against the followers of the Ahlul-Bayt are aimed at destroying true Islam.”
“Throughout history, the oppressive kings and dictators had always sought to destroy the Islam of the Ahlul-Bayt and their legacy. They had also tried to kill the followers of the Ahlul-Bayt and despite all these crimes, conspiracies and evil acts, Shi’a Islam has been evolving each day and it has made great progress so far,” he said.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the revered Shi’a source of emulation, stressed the crucial role of self-purification and cleansing the human soul of sins and further stated that self-purification is the basis for having one’s good deeds accepted in the eyes of God Almighty.”
