RNA – In a meeting with a group of religious poets in the Iranian holy city of Qom on Thursday, September 22, Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi said, “One of the distinguished characteristics of the religious poets is that they recite poetry about religious teachings and Islamic values with their artistic touch.”

The Shi’a source of emulation added, “After the Islamic Revolution, a new style of poetry developed in the Iran and that was religious poetry. Fine poetry is a type that stands against oppression and corruption in the world. It’s the one which reveals the evil nature of groups such as Takfiri terrorists, we must depict the downfall of such terrorists through the language of art.”

Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi stated, “We’ve gathered documents on the origin of Saudi terrorism as well as their false doctrine of Wahhabism, the world will get to know about them soon. Nowadays everyone is aware of the evil nature of these Wahhabis since they have caused nothing but destruction, division and domination by foreigners in the Islamic world.”

In conclusion, His Eminence said, “A great benefit of using the language of art, especially poetry, is to fight the false mysticisms and introduce the genuine one so our youth would be well-aware of them. A key topic of poetry which must be taken into serious consideration is the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice as well as encouraging the adherents of the Ahlul-Bayt to fight the enemies in Yemen, Syria and to defend the holy shrines.”
