RNA – In a meeting with Hujjat al-Islam Ali-Asghar Ohadi, the advisor to the Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Mohammad-Ali Gerami expressed his gratitude over the Forum’s efforts to promote Islamic unity and said, “The enemies of Islam enemies have always sought to create division in the Muslim ummah and are always sowing discord among Sunni and Shi’a Muslims.”
Ayatollah Gerami added, “They even lie to the whole world about the origins of the Quran and claim that the Quran of the Sunnis is different than that of Shi’a Muslims. Therefore, it’s our responsibility to promote genuine Islamic teachings and fight the enemies plots against us.”
Addressing Hujjat al-Islam Ohadi, the Shi’a cleric further pointed at the activities of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and said, “One of the most worthwhile projects of your respected organization is publishing the book of Bidayat al-Mujtahid written by ibn al-Rushd, I’ve seen that book and I think your efforts in publishing such valuable a book must be greatly admired.”
Ayatollah Gerami, a renowned source of emulation concluded, “Prior to the Islamic Revolution in Iran, I always mentioned Sunni narrations during my speeches in addition to those hadith quoted by Shi’a scholars.”
