RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Ayatollah Hasan Alemi, the representative of Khorasan Razavi province in the Assembly of Experts, referred to the danger of secular groups in the Islamic Seminary, and said that by spreading deviant thoughts, there is no doubt that these groups want to penetrate and influence the seminaries.
He said the reason is that these groups want to combat the structure of the Islamic Republic of Iran is because they realize that the Iranian people accept the values of Islam and the Islamic Revolution.
“Also, the clergy are accepted as an expression of these values and if their actions are not successful, for the same reason it is due to the influence of the enemies in the seminary,” the senior Iranian scholar noted.
Ayatollah Alemi explained that deviant groups seek to achieve a goal in which their thoughts, words and beliefs are conveyed by the words of turbaned clerics to the community. “Definitely, the enemies have such a goal in mind and also had this same goal in the past,” he said.
He added that in the past, certain groups, including the anti-clerical and liberal movement led by Ahmad Kasravi, entered into the seminary and taught the people about Islamic theology and beliefs through those who wear the clerical garb but who were secular and promoted a secular ideology in order to spread deviant thoughts among the people.
The representative of Khorasan Razavi province in the Assembly of Experts referred to the strategies to combat the secular currents and said: “The seminary must have the necessary vigilance and seriousness and take decisive action over this issue. At the time of admission to the seminary, selection and during the time of study, such attention should be realized.”
Ayatollah Alemi said that if the seminary sees that such deviations exist, it must declare to the people and society, for example, that the manner of thinking of such and such a person is incompatible with religious values and beliefs.
“Previously we had people who were defrocked and for this reason, it is very important to take care of this issue,” he said.
