RNA – In a meeting with a group of prayer leaders from various Farhangian University campuses across Iran, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani emphasized that the Iranian people were humiliated for centuries and monarchs ruled over the Iranian people from their palaces and considered the people as their servants and added that Islam does not accept monarchy, but rather this concept comes from the Caesar of the Roman Empire and Mu’awiyah established it in Islam.

The revered source of emulation explained, “We must explain history for the people in a proper manner. Many monarchs have ruled over the people but today people live in freedom from the clutches of the oppressors,” and added that this is one of the immense blessings of the Islamic Revolution.

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani noted that the imperialist powers want to undermine Islam and the Islamic Revolution and added that many countries are plagued by cultural, economic and political problems and Islam has a program for all of these issues. “A cleric must have accurate and complete information in regard to all of these issues and the day will come when all Islamic countries turn toward the Islamic Seminaries and seek answers from them,” he said.

He said that Islam needs sacrifices in order to spread and said, “Today, we see today in Bahrain that many scholars and seminarians are suffering. I have been in the presence of some of the scholars of this country and explicitly told them, ‘until you have fifty shrouded people [martyrs] and go forth to the battlefield, you cannot stop the oppression of the Al Khalifah and Al Saud regimes.’”

His Eminence explained that struggle against the oppression requires martyrdom and blood, stressing, “If Imam al-Husayn did not give his blood in Karbala, there would not be any victory for Islam and today, living under the dominion of the imperialist powers is not life at all, but rather real life is through rising up against oppression, although it may result in martyrdom and blood.”

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said that the Islamic Revolution is based on three pillars – pure Islam, the participation of the people and Wilayat al-Faqih (Guardianship of Jurisprudent) and said, “Thanks to God, today the ruler is the Guardian-Jurist who from the perspective of purity, piety and justice is just below the rank of infallibility and in terms of thinking, tactfulness, management and courage, he is at the highest level.”

The distinguished teacher of the Islamic Seminary stressed that Iran’s system of guardianship is sacred and we strive to must protect it. “We know that we are the soldiers of Imam al-Mahdi and we must protect our relationship with him and truly await his reappearance,” he said.
