Rasa – Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi said, “There’s no doubt that such ominous tragedy was a disgrace for Al Saud who consider themselves guardians of Hajj pilgrims lives. Such stain on Al Saud’s history can never be removed.”

RNA – Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi issued a statement on Saturday, September 10, on the anniversary of Mina Tragedy.

The text is as follows:

In the Name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

As we’re approaching the Hajj pilgrims’ stay in Mina, the sad pictures of last year’s martyrs in Mina are more and more seared into our memories resulting in everyone cursing those responsible for this terrible disaster.

There’s no doubt that such ominous tragedy was a disgrace for Al Saud who consider themselves guardians of Hajj pilgrims’ lives. Such stain on Al Saud’s history can never be removed.
In the same way, it was a scandal for all the so-called human rights bodies, since they didn’t show any proper response towards this unprecedented massacre and didn’t even bother to conduct any investigations to the case. Their media also worked according to their benefits.

On the contrary, if some people were killed in Europe, the same international bodies would announce public mourning for them and the European leaders would converge to find a solution for the incident, whereas they simply put an end to thousands of innocent lives in Mina last year because they did not serve their dirty financial benefits and the illegitimate support they receive from Saudi regime.

Those martyrs were considered as guests in God’s shrine, they were performing their divine duty of Hajj rituals in the ‘Land of Revelation’ and as the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei] put it, “Al Saud didn’t even offer a simple apology.”

If reason and wisdom were at work, in addition to apologizing to the families of the martyrs of Mina and Masjid al-Haram, Saudi regime would have also invited all of their families to go on Hajj pilgrimage, hosted them with kindness and consoled them for their grief, paid their martyrs’ blood money completely and announced they would conduct investigations to bring those responsible for the tragedy to justice and punish them for their crime, but the fact is Saudi officials don’t have a grain of sense and prudence!

Worst of all were the fatwas issued by betrayer Saudi Muftis who serve as Al Saud’s political slaves, once they said Saudi regime had not been responsible for the incident and the pilgrims were to blame, then at another time they claimed such tragedy has been destined by God and cannot be prevented and so on.

Al Saud must beware this incident will not be forgotten over time, the Islamic Ummah who lost their loved ones in this tragic event will curse them and someday will take their revenge.

“Must surely your Lord is watching” (Surah al-Fajr: 14)
