Rasa – In a meeting with ‌Bahraini scholars in ‌Qom, Ayatollah Arafi said, “Ayatollah Isa Qasim is regarded as a symbol of resistance not only in Bahrain, but all over the region.”

RNA – A group of Bahraini scholars and clerics met with Ayatollah Ali-Reza Arafi on Thursday, September 8 in the Iranian holy city of Qom.

 

A number of prominent Bahraini Shi’a figures were present at the meeting, including Hujjat al-Islam Abdullah al-Daqqaq, the official representative of Ayatollah Isa Qasim in Iran, Hujjat al-Islam Hasan Khojasteh, the senior member of the Bahraini Council of Scholars, and several other clerics.

 

During the meeting, Ayatollah Arafi, the head of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran, welcomed the Bahraini delegation and said, “I would like to express my deep gratitude on behalf of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran for the efforts you have made regarding the current conditions facing Shi’as in Bahrain, as well as showing your support for Ayatollah Qasim.”

 

He went on, “It is our duty as seminarians and our religious responsibility to support Bahraini citizens as well as His Eminence, Ayatollah Isa Qasim, I am hopeful that such efforts will lead to a tangible result and that eventually, the Bahraini people will achieve the freedom they need.”

 

The head of the al-Mustafa International University reiterated that supporting Ayatollah Qasim and observing his status in Bahrain is among the responsibilities of the management centre of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran and added, “Ayatollah Qasim is regarded as a symbol of resistance and strength not only in Bahrain, but all over the region, moreover, the Bahraini people are currently standing on the front lines of the Islamic Resistance. Thus, it’s our duty to support their popular movement and we will do so in any way we can.”
