RNA – Speaking at ceremony commemorating those who were martyred defending the holy shrines in Syria and Iraq, Hujjat al-Islam Ali Mo’allemi noted the importance of commemorating Iran’s martyrs in order to maintain and transmit the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom to future generations.
The member of the Assembly of Experts pointed out that as the tragedy of Ashura must be kept alive in history, the epic of the Sacred Defense [Iran-Iraq] must also be kept alive in history and the martyred defenders of the holy shrines have proved that the standard of the Islamic Resistance will always stand against the imperialist powers.
He said that the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini, rose the flag of the resistance and the struggle against the oppressors by following the school of Islam and it is necessary to remember and commemorate the martyrs to keep the spirit of the resistance alive and promote the culture of sacrifice, selflessness and dedication to further the goals of the Islamic Revolution and Islam.
Hujjat al-Islam Mo’allemi noted that as long as such commemorations are held, the new generations will stand for the values of the Revolution and when those people who are compassionate for the Revolution see that the people are striving to hold such commemorative ceremonies, they will be happy.
The Iranian cleric said that by imposing challenges and sanctions on Iran, the enemies of Islamic Revolution cannot prevent the people of Iran from continuing on their path and cannot close the covenant that they have with the martyrs.
His Eminence said that the enemies seek to deviate society from Islamic goals, saying, “For many years, the imperialist powers have been planning deviate the Muslim youth so that they cannot achieve the lofty goals of the Islamic Revolution.”
Hujjat al-Islam Mo’allemi said that Shi’ism is like an eagle, it needs two wings to fly. One of its wings is martyrdom and its other wing is Mahdism [Messianism]. If one of them is taken from Shi’ism, the eagle cannot fly.
“The thought of Imam Khomeini has reached a level that everywhere that resistance and struggle against imperialism is heard in the world, the name of Iran and Shi’a youth is heard,” he stressed.
The Iranian cleric said that Ayatollah Khamenei’s guidelines have allowed the Islamic Revolution to achieve its goals and said that the United States and the imperial powers have strived for many years to eliminate Ayatollah Khamenei’s speeches because of his political and social insight.
He added that the character of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution is so high that Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is not religious, was fascinated by him and listened to the Iranian Supreme Leader’s guidance on regional issues.
Hujjat al-Islam Mo’allemi said all the words and orders of the Leader are based on principles such that due to Ayatollah Khamenei’s advice, today Iran is known as one of the powerful countries in the world.
