Ayatollah Sobhani:
Rasa – In a statement, Ayatollah Sobhani warned the Bahraini regime that they must end their pressure and suppression against the people of Bahrain and follow the rule of law.

RNA – Below is the complete statement of Grand Ayatollah Ja’far Sobhani regarding the situation in Bahrain:

In the Name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

The dreadful and saddening news that has reached us from Bahrain shows that the rulers of that country are prepared to partake in any immoral action because of the arrogance that power has given them. It has been many years now that the noble people of Bahrain have risen up and demanded their legitimate and lawful rights from the rulers and government.

However, instead of giving the people a positive response, they answered their legitimate demands with live ammunition.

Not a day goes by without there being an arrest or the disbanding of a political organizations or merciless pressure and them being satisfied with the capabilities of the military, but they are forgetting that the “hand of God is above their hands” and that the desire of God is attached to the salvation of the weak and oppressed and that a day will come when this slogan is realized.

I request the rulers of Bahrain to stop their suppression and pressure and follow the rule of law. With the encouragement of their neighbour, they must not harass the honourable and noble Bahraini citizens and should know that days of distain are approaching and that the blessing of victory is near.

Do not suppose that God is oblivious to what the wrongdoers are doing” (Holy Quran 14:42).
