RNA – Speaking at a ceremony marking the beginning of the new academic year in the Islamic Seminary of Qom at Qom’s renowned Feyziyeh Seminary, Ayatollah Ali-Reza Arafi welcomed the students who have joined the Islamic Seminary this year.
The director of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran added that the Islamic Seminary is an institution which derives from the great philosophy of proselytization and the defence of the transcendent values of God. The Seminary has a great and historic identity and everyone should honour this historical identity and also protect it.
“In my meetings with the sources of emulation and the Supreme Leader, they have all emphasized on the greatness of the important traditions of the Seminary and seminarians must learn from the sources of emulation and know the history and sources of emulation of the Seminary,” the Iranian cleric said.
Ayatollah Arafi stated that the foundation of the Islamic Seminary relies on the sources of emulation and the scholars and added, “The Seminary is associated with and cherished by the Islamic system of government and it is from the Feyziyeh Seminary where the Islamic Revolution emanated from. From this place, the revolutionaries rose up and changed the equation of the world.”
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom said that today, we are faced with great needs in both Iran and the world and all our efforts should be based on divine teachings. “The Seminary has international, social and popular natures. These are important aspects that must flourish more and more every day,” he said.
The head of al-Mustafa International University explained that the result of one’s studies, self-purification and seriousness will become clear in the future and everyone must pay attention to this and added, “The sources of emulation and the Supreme Leader consider the proselytization and propagation of the school of the Ahlul-Bayt as the main mission of the Seminary and the Seminary is also at the service of the Islamic ummah.”
Ayatollah Arafi stressed, “We do not engage in excommunication and war. The Islamic Seminary of Qom is a symbol of propagation and opposition to the Takfiri and anti-religious phenomena.”
