RNA – During his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers at Grand Mosque of Kufah in Iraq, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Muhannad al-Musawi warned against the spread of the Wahhabi thought and ideology in Muslim countries and added that the extremist phenomenon seeks to encourage the spread of atheism in this country through its actions.

“Wahhabism offers itself as an example of original Islam by distorting the rationalism of Islam. This is what assists the spread of this ideology in Islamic countries,” he said.

Hujjat al-Islam al-Musawi stressed that the Wahhabi ideology is not being spread through the efforts of the people but through the efforts of certain governments and through the support of some international organizations who seek to spread Wahhabism in the Middle East.

“There is evidence for this and studies have proven that there is an organized work to propagate Wahhabism in the region,” he explained, noting the role of the media, satellite channels and websites.

He added that Muslims must stand against the Wahhabi ideology in order to save the youth.
