RNA – In a meeting with a group of members of the World Council for the Return to Palestine in Sidon, Shaykh Zuhayr al-Ja’id, the Secretary-General of Lebanon’s Islamic Action Front, said the Zionist occupiers are committing the most heinous terrorist crimes against the oppressed Palestinian nation and Muslims must strive for freedom in this land.
The Islamic Action Front, an umbrella grouping of pro-Syrian government Sunni groups in Lebanon, is also close to the Shi’a Islamic Resistance group, Hezbollah.
The Lebanese Sunni scholar also called for the strengthening of Islamic unity and said Muslims must work together to demonstrate and propagate the original Islamic teachings to the world, which the extremists and Takfiri extremists are seeking to undermine and distort.
Shaykh al-Ja’id noted that Islam is a humane and merciful religion and said that Takfiris treat Islamic heritage and jurisprudence as playthings “but the agents of Israel and the imperialist powers of the world do not have the ability to distort the truth and mislead people.”
He stressed that Muslim scholars, preachers and thinkers must stand against the extremists and not allow their deviant and false ideas to be realized.
His Eminence demanded that all states and regional and international powers which are supporting terrorism must immediately cease their support for Takfiri groups, especially after the serious danger that these groups pose to their own countries has become evident.
