RNA – During his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in the Iraqi city of Najaf, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Sadruddin al-Qubanchi stressed the dismissal of Iraqi Defence Minister Khalid al-Ubaydi on Thursday will have no effect on the operation to liberate Mosul from the Daesh Takfiri forces and said, “Regardless of political conflict, the country’s armed forces must pursue the military operations to liberate Mosul.”

The senior Iraqi scholar added that the government should begin the liberation of Mosul simultaneously with the necessary measures to accommodate nearly a million displaced people in Nineveh Governorate.

Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi called on the Saudi government to respect Iraqi Hajj pilgrims and noted that we have heard many criticisms against the Saudi government by many Iraqi pilgrims due to Saudi Arabia’s sabotage against Iraqi pilgrims entering Saudi Arabia by land or air as well as their unreasonable and inappropriate inspections under the pretext of having brought certain banned books and brochures into the country.

He stressed that the Saudi government should not allow Wahhabis and extremists to interfere in the Hajj and pilgrims’ affairs.
