RNA – In a meeting with officials from Bijar County, in Iran’s western Kordestan province, at his office in the holy city of Qom, Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi noted the difficulties they face, especially with the attempts by ISIL to infiltrate Iran’s western regions.
"Previous Muslim scholars have stressed numerous times that life always has problems. Islam has given orders to persevere in order to overcome these problems," he said.
“If one’s faith is not mixed with patience, it has no use and will not last and those who will be successful and will not be afraid of the problems which they face, will go forth to the battlefield with faith and perseverance,” His Eminence said.
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi said that some of the current problems facing Iran have been imposed by foreign powers from both inside the country and outside and said, “The imperialist powers have created many difficult problems for us in an attempt to force us to surrender to them and we must have complete vigilance over these problems.”
The revered cleric added that the imperialist powers have created obstacles in the way of Iran’s dignity and independence and want Iran to be their slave because their problems do not end and every day they use issues like human rights and the nuclear issue as a pretext. “It is important that we stand against them and resist these problems,” he noted.
The teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom noted his exile to the Kurdish-Sunni city of Mahabad before the Islamic Revolution and stressed on the commonalities between Shi’a and Sunni Muslims and said that we should abide by our principles and values and have certainty that we will be victorious, adding, “In order to be victorious we must maintain unity between all segments of the country and our Sunni brothers will definitely also be with us. All Sunnis do not support the Takfiri terrorists and do not have problems with Shi’as.”
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi stressed on the necessity of maintaining vigilance against the enemies’ plots and explained that everyday the enemies launch a new plot against Iran and added: “But by the grace of God and the awakening of the nation, these plots have been neutralized. Today, the security of the Islamic Republic is exemplary among the countries of the region which is suffering from insecurity.”
