RNA – Speaking at a gathering with a group of Lebanese elites and political authorities, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki said, “The Islamic Republic of Iran has always been supporting unity among the oppressed nations, especially Muslims since its establishment.”
The senior Shi’a cleric added, “The current issues going on in the Muslim world are rooted in division and sectarian policies. If the Muslim ummah become united in their fight against these ongoing challenges, there’s no doubt they will eventually overcome these obstacles.”
The chairman of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought further stated, “Islamic unity does not mean all Islamic denominations and sects must become one, or the geographical borders must be removed, or the ruling governments be overthrown, rather it means that all Muslims must stand together as a whole body to fight against Islam’s adversaries and not let them encourage sectarianism among the Muslim nations.”
On the issue of resistance, Ayatollah Araki said, “In addition to being a religious choice, resistance is a rational decision and it’s logically justified that we choose resistance.”
