RNA – A delegation from Mashhad’s Astan Quds Razavi [Holy Shrine of Imam al-Ridha], headed by Hujjat al-Islam Shamsoddin Diani, have recently visited Lebanon, where they met and spoke with Ayatollah Abdul-Amir Qabalan, the head of the Supreme Shi’a Council of Lebanon, at his office in Beirut.

During the meeting Ayatollah Qabalan explained that the Ahlul-Bayt are a wealth for the Islamic ummah and all of humanity and adherence to their doctrines will lead to the salvation of humankind from the current crises and problems in the world.

He added that Muslims must return to the teachings of their faith and with good cooperation with others in righteousness, piety and by fighting against sectarianism and aggression, they can become role models for everyone and stand up against evil actions and the adversity facing others.

Ayatollah Qabalan condemned all forms of terrorism and explained that terrorism is an attack on human dignity and their sanctities and this must not be infringed upon.

“The recent arbitrary attacks by Zionist settlers on the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem al-Quds, which is considered as one of our religious symbols, is an example of terrorism, which we strongly condemn,” he stressed.

On Sunday, fresh clashes erupted near the mosque after over 300 Israeli settlers entered the compound and performed rituals inside in violation of an agreement signed between the Tel Aviv regime and the Jordanian government after Israel’s occupation of East Jerusalem al-Quds in 1967 which stated that visits to the compound by Israelis are permitted, but non-Muslim worship is prohibited.
