RNA – Ayatollah Ali-Reza Arafi, during his Friday prayer sermon in Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, referred to the Saudis’ attempts to build consensus at the recent Arabic League summit in Mauritania, saying that the Arab League was under the influence and pressure of Saudi money to achieve consensus in regard to the war on Yemen, support for terrorism in Syria, the crackdown in Bahrain, open relations with the Zionist entity and the betrayal of Palestinians.
“These positions were a dagger in the body of the Islamic nation by the United States, Israel and Saudi Arabia,” he said.
The new head of the Islamic Seminaries across Iran added: “Fie upon these who are traitors to Islam and who have officially recognized the Zionist entity! With a loud voice, we condemn Israel, their supporters and the accursed positions taken by the Arab League.”
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom said the calculations taken by Saudi Arabia and Takfiris were wrong as they assumed they could destroy the Islamic Resistance but they did not realize that the soldiers of the Islamic Revolution and Resistance will stand against the arrogant powers and shatter their evil plans in Yemen, Syria, Bahrain and Palestine.
“In the future we will see that their evil plans led to nowhere,” the Iranian cleric said.
The member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution said that Saudi Arabia's actions in Islamic countries are considered interference and added that their efforts to normalize relations with Israel are a huge betrayal to the Islamic world.
Referring to the developments in Bahrain, Ayatollah Arafi explained that today is the International Day of Solidarity with the oppressed people of Bahrain and added that we in Qom, which is the base of the Islamic Revolution, condemn any affront to Ayatollah Isa Qasim.
“If they continue such actions, they will create a very dangerous future and the people of Iran stand alongside the people of Bahrain and are the defenders of religious values and Ayatollah Qasim,” he said.
Ayatollah Arafi noted that Iranians have realized from the 1906 Iranian Constitutional Revolution that we must not depend on the West but rather should stand on our own two feet.
“The statements of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution are along the same lines as this – the culture of resistance, the Resistance Economy, helping the deprived and oppressed… are great lessons which come from the Constitutional Revolution,” he said.
