RNA – Addressing the recent events in Bahrain, Ayatollah Mohsen Faqihi said: “The current situation in Bahrain has led the Al Khalifah regime to crackdown on its Shi’a majority and to suppress them in an inhumane way,” he said in an interview with the media.

“The Bahraini regime must stop confronting eminent religious scholars including Ayatollah Isa Qasim, who are expressing people’s rights and demands,” the teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom further asserted.

Ayatollah Faqihi added: “During recent years and months, Ayatollah Isa Qasim, as well as his numerous followers have never engaged in an arms struggle, rather he has demanded people’s legitimate rights from the regime and has asked them to recognize their rights; but instead of having their voice heard, the Al Khalifah regime has suppressed their voices and treated them in the most brutal way.”

“It’s in the best interest of the Bahraini regime to appreciate such a great leader, who encourages his followers to hold rallies in a peaceful manner instead of confronting its people and carrying out irrational actions such as revoking the citizenship of Ayatollah Qasim,” he added.

“Our advice for the Al Khalifah regime is to seek this opportunity and hear  the voice of the Bahraini scholars, respect their citizens’ legitimate demands; they must beware, for if this popular uprising develops, their regime will be in serious danger,” Ayatollah Faqihi concluded.
