RNA – "Current challenges in Iraq are a struggle between faith and unbelief," said Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani, during a meeting with Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, the president of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, at office in the holy city of Qom.

He added that Iraq’s challenges are not specific to this country alone because the enemies of Islam have joined hands with one another against the entire Islamic world, especially Iraq, Syria and Iran.

The revered Iranian source of emulation stressed upon the need for unity between Sunni and Shi’a Muslim in order to confront the conspiracies of the enemies of Islam, adding: “In addition to this, the unity of the [Islamic] Resistance Front is much more important.”

He pointed out that the flag of the Islamic Revolution in Iran has been raised and with this, the Islamic Awakening has spread beyond the borders of the Muslim world. “The Islamic Awakening was formed in the direction of the Islamic Revolution,” he added.

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani stressed that the late founder of Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini, infused the spirit of self-confidence in the people and added that the Islamic Revolution is the manifestation of the power of the people which Imam Khomeini revitalized.

His Eminence stated that Shi’a clerics and sources of emulation play an influential role in Iraq alongside the people of this war-torn country and added that Iraq does not have the solidarity that Iran has and still, some people who supported ex-Iraqi dictator Saddam Husayn have made the duties of the scholars and clergymen heavier.

He urged Muslim scholars to deliberate on ways to solve the problems facing Islamic countries and said Muslim scholars should form a united front against the imperial powers because unity is the only way to solve the problems of the Islamic world.

In conclusion, Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani emphasized the necessity of liberating the holy city of al-Quds Jerusalem and the Two Holy Shrines in Makkah and Madinah from the enemies and added: “Today, our strength is not in our oil and natural gas but it is in the faith and will of the people. The progression of the world indicates the victory of the oppressed over the oppressors.”
