RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad-Taqi Pourmohammadi said that the recent explosion in Madinah was an alarm to the Muslim world and that ISIL had crossed the red lines as they had reached the vicinity of the holy burial place of the Prophet Muhammad and the cemetery of Jannat al-Baqi’.
The member of Iran's Assembly of Experts stated that terrorist attacks on this years’ Hajj are not unexpected and that the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group seeks to create insecurity all over the world, especially in places where Muslims live.
He added that Iran is also part of their plans but the present security of the country prevents the implementation of their programs.
Hujjat al-Islam Pourmohammadi stressed that the extremist ideologies of Wahhabism and ISIL are the most significant threats to the Islamic world and the realization of Islamic unity. “Presently, thanks to the awareness of the people of Iran and the country’s security and armed forces, the Islamic Republic is one of the safest countries in the world.”
He said Iranian security forces have been successful in the past few days by stopping a number of terrorist groups in the various border areas of the country and they also destroyed several groups affiliated to ISIL and arrested its members in Tehran.
His Eminence also referred to the eighth of the Islamic month of Shawwal, which marks the 91st anniversary of the demolition of the blessed graves of the Imams buried in Madinah’s Jannat al-Baqi’ cemetery, saying: “Throughout the years, the Wahhabi/Takfiri ideology has been a major factor in the destruction of the shrines of Shi’a Imams.”
Hujjat al-Islam Pourmohammadi said that until 91 years ago, there were shrines built over the graves of Imam Hasan, Imams Ali ibn al-Husayn, Muhammad al-Baqir and Ja’far al-Sadiq in Jannat al-Baqi’ but Wahhabis, with their reactionary ideas and by the order of muftis, demolished the shrines. “Today, this same ideology is applied by ISIL against Islamic religious places,” he said.
He added that severe damage to the shrines of Imams in Kadhimayn and Samarra are examples of the reactionary Takfiri ideology of the ISIL terrorist group and if they reach the holy sites in Syria and Iraq or even Iran, will undoubtedly perform the same actions.
The Iranian scholar stated that the entire costs of promoting the Takfiri ideology are provided by the enemies of Islam and by Saudi petrodollars but the Popular Mobilization Forces and the Syrian and Iraqi armies have been able to push back the group to the brink of failure.
“We will soon witness the collapse of ISIL and the Wahhabi ideology,” he said.
