RNA – Grand Ayatollah Ja’far Sobhani said, “The revocation of Shaykh Isa Qasim’s citizenship by the Al Khalifah is unjustifiable by neither international laws nor religious standards.”

Ayatollah Sobhani’s statement on condemning the revocation of Shaykh Qasim’s citizenship is as follows:

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

For years, innocent Bahraini citizens have been subject to cruel harassment and repressive measures carried out by the Al Khalifah regime whose actions have supported by the Al Saud. They are increasingly imposing more restrictions on Bahrainis’ to take their freedom so much that Al Khalifah suppose they own Bahrain and its citizens. They even authorize actions such as granting citizenship to foreigners or stripping the native Bahrainis of their legitimate citizenship.

The revocation of Shaykh Isa’s citizenship is unjustifiable by both international laws and religious standards. Furthermore, Bahrain belongs to the people who have lived on this land for hundreds of years and no one can strip them of their legitimate rights.

Instead of respecting their citizens’ rights according to international laws as well as religious and logical reasons, the Al Khalifah regime goes on to murder and arrest Bahrainis, it even revokes their citizenship hoping to silence their calls for justice.

Let’s hope for a day when the proud nation of Bahrain reclaim their legitimate rights and administer justice for their oppressed leaders.
