RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Ayatollah Abbas Ka’bi, the representative of Khuzestan in the Assembly of Experts, denounced Bahrain’s Al Khalifah regime for its revocation of the citizenship of Shi’a opposition leader and spiritual leader Ayatollah Shaykh Isa Qasim, saying this act is contrary to international law and even Bahrain’s own laws and is also contrary to morality and religious laws.
He added that this act is a big insult to the people of Bahrain and is contrary to the laws of every country to revoke the citizenship of someone at the level of a spiritual leader. “The special status of divine leaders is to be respected in all conventions and rules. Thus, this a move is a provocative move that will cause the Al Khalifah regime to reach its end,” he said.
Ayatollah Ka’bi explained that Ayatollah Qasim is a symbol of dialogue, peace, wisdom, prudence and of a peaceful movement, adding: “The Al Khalifah regime will be defeated by this approach of dialogue, peaceful resistance and wisdom and wants to lead the current crisis situation in Bahrain toward violence.”
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom said there is concern that Al Khalifah wants to create insecurity and mass killings and end the comfort of the Bahraini people. He urged "those international organizations claiming to support human rights and democracy" to come forth and "oppose the Al Khalifah regime."
Ayatollah Ka’bi stated that this oppressive, tyrannous and authoritarian regime is dependent on Saudi and Western support and the through the silence of the international community, they could do such acts. Bahrainis have an invincible will and from the very first moments, they gathered in front to Ayatollah Qasim’s house to say that they will not allow the Al Khalifah regime to touch this revered and spiritual leader.
The Iranian scholar said Ayatollah Qasim has a special position, not only in Bahrain but also in the Islamic Seminary of Najaf, the Islamic Seminary of Qom and among all Shi’as. The insults toward Ayatollah Qasim are not only an insult to the people of Bahrain but an insult to all Shi’as and the free people of the region.
