RNA – In a meeting with Yemeni scholars, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Ebrahim Raisi, the custodian of the Astan Quds Razavi [the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Ridha in Mashhad], said that the friendship and relationship between the people of Iran and Yemen is rooted in the common beliefs of the two nations.
The renowned scholar added that the belief in religion, the Holy Quran and the pure Ahlul-Bayt is the main source of the relationship between the two nations.
He pointed to the resistance, steadfastness and commitment of the Yemeni people to religion and values and said: “Without hesitation, scholars have an important role in this process and this matter is an honour and pride for Muslim nations.”
Hujjat al-Islam Raisi noted the efforts of the imperial powers of the world and the House of Saud to divide the Yemeni people and said: “The vigilant and mindful scholars, who are the true intellectuals of society, have promised that the impact of such efforts will not have any effect on the Yemeni people.”
His Eminence stressed that the Saudi regime is the strategic extension of the imperial powers in the region and added that today, in the war against Yemen, the front of the believers are standing against the imperialists, and added that the House of Saud is fighting against the Yemeni people on behalf of the United States and Israel.
The member of the Supreme Council of the Seminary of Khorasan said that the behaviour of the House of Saud in this war is not compatible with any of the humanitarian principles or verses of the Holy Quran.
“Saudi Arabia is not present on any of the arenas of struggle in the Islamic world – not in Palestine, Egypt or elsewhere. This proves to everyone that the Saudi regime plays the role of the big powers in the region,” he said.
Hujjat al-Islam Raisi stated that support for the oppressed people of the world is the unchangeable policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and added that from the beginning of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini stressed upon supporting Jerusalem and Palestine and Ayatollah Khamenei has also reaffirmed this approach.
“Despite the many threats due to Iran’s support for Palestine, there has been no change in the country’s approach,” he stressed.
