RNA – In an interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Mahdi Taeb, a teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom stated that in the view of Imam Khomeini, there are two types of Islam, pure Muhammadan Islam and American Islam.
He said that Imam Khomeini introduced the United States as the “Great Satan” and naturally, “American Islam” is the form of Islam, which the US welcomes.
“Therefore, the US is the enemy – the enemy of religion and the world. In the Quran, Satan not the only enemy of the religion of mankind but rather he is the enemy of religion and the world in which the followers of Satan are engaged in corruption on earth,” he said.
Hujjat al-Islam Taeb said that American Islam is not in conflict with the West because it is impossible for the US to accept the militant Islam that it created. American Islam is therefore Islam which is not in conflict with the West and it is a form of Islam which is not dangerous to themselves.
His Eminence added that American Islam without conflict is receptive to the opposite side. “In this kind of Islam, the enemies do not want us to progress and we must change the situation against them. We must not put our hands out to the enemies and instead, work in favour of the people, the oppressed and Muslims,” he stressed.
Hujjat al-Islam Taeb said that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Khamenei has stated that “The enemies are not opposed to the principle that Islam exists, but they are opposed to Islam which changes and progresses.”
His Eminence said that revolutionary Islam, which Imam Khomeini was the embodiment of, is the Islam which stands up to the enemies and does not submit to them. “This revolutionary characteristics is an indication of the explanatory nature of Islam. American Islam is Islam in name only.”
