RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in Basrah’s al-Shuwayli Mosque, Hujjat al-Islam Muhammad Falak called on the central Iraqi government in Baghdad and politicians to reconsider communication and interaction with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), based in the northern Iraqi city of Erbil.
The representative of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani in Basrah called the KRG “the enemy” and “a major factor in the appearance of the Takfiri terrorist phenomenon and ISIL in Iraq,” adding that much of Iraq’s oil is located in the territory controlled by the KRG, which they sell to the Zionist regime.
Hujjat al-Islam Falak criticized the meetings between Iraqi politicians with the “treacherous” KRG and added that the KRG declaration of independence from Iraq and its oil sales to Israel are a betrayal to the people of this country and stressed they have become enemies of Iraq.
