RNA – During his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Saidi noted the 68th anniversary of the declaration of the independence of the Zionist entity, which was established on May 14, 1948, saying that the occupation of Palestine by Israel was one of the conspiracies by the United Kingdom and was immediately recognized by the United States and the former Soviet Union.
He stressed: “The [Americans] have been talking about this occupation for the past 68 years, but the Palestinians have gained nothing except contempt, bombings torture, the destruction of their homes and further development of Jewish settlements. If the Palestinians have achieved anything, it has been only because of the resistance.”
The Iranian cleric added that another example of American treachery is in regard to the former Libyan leader Muammar al-Qadhafi, who trusted the US and gave up his country’s nuclear program to the US, but sanctions were increased several times and he was humiliated and was eventually killed and the today, the turmoil in Libya continues.
Ayatollah Saidi pointed out that that the US has stole $2 billion of Iran’s state assets and imposed new sanctions against Iran and said this situation was due to the trust in the US government by certain Iranian officials. “This is a government established on tyranny, slavery, murder and theft,” he said.
His Eminence said that Iran proved to the world during these negotiations that it negotiates from a position of strength, dignity and wisdom but “the Americans have pursued a policy of Iranophobia.”
Qom’s Friday prayer said regional mercenaries and traitors supported by the US and the Zionist regime have killed thousands of innocent people in Syria and have destroyed the country’s infrastructure and state that Bashar al-Assad must not remain the president of Syria against all international norms.
He said that Iran, Hezbollah and Shi’as are Syria’s principal and most sincere supporters and added that Iran explicitly declares that “we do not trust the Americans and never will.”
Ayatollah Sa’idi explained that the unbelievers want to extinguish the divine light of Islam and added that they have imposed various methods in order to achieve their goals, including insults, slander, economic sanctions and various wars against Muslims have been part of their attempts to accomplish this.
The trustee of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah explained that the enemies have also sought to create discord and division between Sunnis and Shi’as, strengthen internal disputes, fifth columns, occupy Islamic lands and have even created polarization and social ills within Islamic societies with this aim. “The division of Islamic countries is also one of the plots of the enemies who want to weaken the light of Islam,” he said.
