RNA – Grand Ayatollah Ja’far Sobhani referred to the mission of the clergy in the fight against the enemies saying: “The mission of the clergy and missionaries in this regard is to explain the teachings of the Ahlul-Bayt until they have guided the people and saved them from going astray.”
His eminence made the remarks during a ceremony in Qom in which he ordained new clergymen.
The revered source of emulation said that today, we are in an era of confrontation with the enemies in a new cold war and they are fully prepared on this battlefield due to their array of media tools, especially satellite television, and their far-reaching propaganda, ideology and orientation has entered into our homes in the form of anti-religion and Islamophobia.
He said that due to their efforts, we have to make greater use of the same media tools that the enemies use against us and use them in the same method and enter their homes in these methods so we can confront them in the same way that they have confronted us.
Ayatollah Sobhani said that in the same way that the enemies lead our children and youth astray, we must prevent their misguidance, adding: “Our native culture includes issues which society can be guided through and therefore such issues must be given their due importance. We must take the people’s culture so that the enemies cannot open a path in which lead our people astray.”
His Eminence said there is peace throughout the whole world but most of the present conflicts and wars are occurring in the Middle East, especially in Shi’a inhabited regions, such as Lebanon, Iraq and Syria, because the enemies know that the only religion that is practical and logical is Shi’a Islam.
“For this reason, the enemies seek to prevent Shi’a propagation through various means but fortunately, Shi’ism growing,” he said.
