RNA – Speaking during his jurisprudence course at Qom’s Grand Mosque, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani stated that one of the greatest betrayals of the House of Saud has been their destruction of the Islamic heritage of the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, in particular those monuments which belong to the Ahlul-Bayt.
One of the greatest tragedies in recent Islamic history has been the destruction of Madinah’s Jannat al-Baqi cemetery where several Imams and relatives of the Prophet Muhammad are buried. The mausoleums in this holy cemetery were demolished by King Abdul-Aziz ibn Saud on April 21, 1925. In the same year, he also demolished the tombs of holy persons buried in Mualla Cemetery in Makkah.
The revered source of emulation stated that the growth of the school of the Ahlul-Bayt has angered the enemies and those who have a sense of malice toward Shi’ism and Islam and the widespread propaganda against the Shi’ism and followers of the Ahlul-Bayt has confirmed this point.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani stated that the fundamentals of Shi’ism are very robust and strong and added that there have been efforts throughout history to spread a negative interpretation of Shi’ism and Islam and deviation among the people but they know that they cannot extinguish the light of Islam and Ahlul-Bayt through insults and deviation.
