RNA – A number of individuals involved in the preparation and formulation of an encyclopedic work entitled “The Culture of the Declaration of the Martyrs of the Islamic Seminaries” met with Ayatollah Alireza Arafi at the office of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran in Qom.
At this meeting, a report on the goals and process of preparing and formulating “The Culture of the Declaration of the Martyrs of the Islamic Seminaries” to Ayatollah Arafi and he provided instructions to correct the shortcomings and complete this valuable project.
Yahya Aqili, one of those involved in preparing and formulating this book, provided Rasa News Agency with the details of the visit which was held in honour of Sacred Defence Week, which commemorates the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq War.
The representative of the Islamic Seminaries in the Museum of the Revolution and the Sacred Defence continued, “Ayatollah Arafi welcomed the preparation and formulation of ‘The Culture of the Declaration of the Martyrs of the Islamic Seminaries’ and announced the cooperation of the Centre for the Management of the Islamic Seminaries to complete this valuable project and gave instructions to the relevant departments in order to fix the deficiencies in the project.”
He added, “One of the issues that we needed to complete this project is the confirmation and certification of the fact the martyrs were seminarians. So far, we have received the documents proving that one thousand martyrs were seminarians.”
Aqili added, “The documentation proving that the rest of the martyrs, who are 3,888 individuals, were seminarians has been confirmed and are awaiting the final stages of work.”
He noted, “Prior to this, the number of seminarian martyrs wasn’t separated and there were statistics of non-Iranian clerics as well. In compiling ‘The Culture of the Declaration of the Martyrs of the Islamic Seminaries,’ these statistics had to be separated.”
He said, “The Culture of the Declaration of the Martyrs of the Islamic Seminaries will be published in fourteen volumes. This work compiles the statistics of martyrs across the country on the basis of region. Ten volumes of this work are available.”
Aqili added, “Two volumes of this work are dedicated to explaining the different roles of the clergy in the Sacred Defence as well as the statements of Imam Khomeyni and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Khamenei]. Also, martyred clergymen from other countries of the Islamic world will be introduced in two volumes.”
