Qom Friday Prayer Leader:‎
Ayatollah Arafi referred to the active stance and resistance of Islamic Iran in the face of the ‎United Kingdom’s illegal action against Iran’s Grace 1 oil tanker and said, “The enemies ‎attacked the Iranian ship but were forced to backtrack due to ‎Iran’s demonstration of ‎power.”‎

RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers at Qom’s ‎Qods ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi ‎commemorated the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir and said, ‎‎“Eid al-Ghadir is ‎a symbol of wilayah (guardianship), unity, emancipation and salvation of ‎mankind and is good news for all of humanity. For us, the followers of the Ahl al-Bayt, it’s a ‎source of honour.”‎
‎ ‎
The head of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran referred to the anniversary of the disastrous ‎August 15-19, 1953 Iranian coup d’état which was carried out by the United States, said, ‎‎“This oppressive coup d’état was in contravention of international law and strengthened the ‎bloodthirsty Pahlavi regime and undermined the dignity and nobility of the Iranian people. ‎The 1953 coup d’état is a flag which shows the way to officials and society and proves that ‎the United States cannot be trusted and we cannot be content to negotiate with the United ‎States.”‎
‎ ‎
Referring to the situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir, he said, “Unfortunately, actions were ‎taken which are contrary to the Indian constitution and the wishes of the Muslim people of ‎Kashmir and the autonomy and special status of this region was abolished. The Indian ‎government must respect the will and rights of the Muslim people of Kashmir and respect ‎their rights and abuses and end their oppression and aggression against them. We expect ‎the Indian government to act wisely and in accordance with the laws and opinions of the ‎people and to stop their wrong actions.”‎

Concerning the war in Yemen, Ayatollah Arafi said, “For five years, we have witnessed ‎massacres, attacks and looting in Yemen and today, the plot to dismember Yemen is being ‎pursued. A decade ago, the Americans devised a plan to dismember Islamic countries and ‎sought to create new ones to weaken the Islamic ummah.”‎
‎ ‎
The member of the Supreme Council of Islamic Seminaries emphasized, “Iran and the ‎Islamic Resistance Front withstood the dismemberment of Arab countries, prevented their ‎dismemberment and defeated the enemies. Today, Saudi Arabia, inspired by the United ‎States, seeks to divide Yemen into northern and southern states.”‎
‎ ‎
Referring to the meeting between the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah ‎Khamenei] and a delegation from Yemen’s Ansarullah Movement, he ‎added, “The Supreme ‎Leader told the delegation from Ansarullah to ‎resist against the conspiracy to dismember ‎Yemen. The world knows that in the same manner that Iran stands alongside legitimate ‎‎governments and supports Arab countries against dismemberment through international ‎logic, it will also be with the Yemeni people and they will be victorious in the face of all of ‎these conspiracies.”‎
‎ ‎
Ayatollah Arafi said, “The enemies attacked the Iranian ship [Grace 1] but were forced to ‎backtrack due to ‎Iran’s demonstration of power. After this defeat, they said that Iran had ‎made a commitment but Iran had made no commitments. ‎The power of faith and the ‎weapons of Iran pushed the British back and they humiliatingly retreated and failed to do ‎anything and this will also be the case in the future.”‎
‎ ‎
Addressing the enemies, the member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom said, ‎‎“You won’t be able to contend with this insightful and martyr-giving nation and just as you ‎were defeated in Iran, Syria and Iraq, you will be defeated in all of the Islamic world and ‎Israel and your puppets will disappear.”
