RNA – In an exclusive interview with Rasa News Agency, Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Haj-Abolqasem-Dolabi, the representative of the people of Zanjan in the Assembly of Experts, referred to the difficult economic and the living conditions in Iran and said, “After the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, our country has been opposed to arrogant powers of the world. For this reason, Iran’s political dependence on other countries has disappeared from the same time.”
The Iranian cleric and politician added, “Along with the disconnection of the political affiliation of the Islamic Republic of Iran with other countries, it was necessary to take measures in the economic arena to prevent Iran’s economic system from being vulnerable to foreign attacks.”
He noted, “Unfortunately, over the past forty years, notably during the previous and current administrations, not enough attention has been given to strengthening the country’s economic system in order to cut off its dependence on other countries.”
Hujjat al-Islam Haj-Abolqasem-Dolabi noted that although some measures have been taken in some periods to solve the economic problems in the country, these actions were undoubtedly insufficient because the operation of the issue of Resistance Economy in different periods has been carried out by the neglectful officials.
The teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom referred to the negotiations with the P5+1 group of countries over the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and said, “The politicians saw the solution to the economic problems of the country in the context of negotiations with the West. For this reason, they all turned their grief toward establishing relations with the West over the last few years.”
He added, “The arrogant countries of the world have a fundamental problem with the essence of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which wants to be independent. For this reason, it was clear from the outset that the idea of solving the economic problems of the country through engagement with the West was incorrect.”
Hujjat al-Islam Haj-Abolqasem-Dolabi, “Unfortunately, some officials, despite the predictions and recommendations of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei], tried to sit down at the negotiating table with the arrogant powers, the result of which was to neglect the Resistance Economy, and eventually the politicians didn’t achieve that which they desired in the negotiations with the P5+1.”
His Eminence said, “The events of the past several years, along with cruel sanctions and the lack of internal planning, have led to the vulnerability of the country’s economy, with the main pressure on the people, especially the poor strata of society.”
Arguing that the main culprit of the current economic problems facing Iran is the pro-Western phenomenon with the country, Hujjat al-Islam Haj-Abolqasem-Dolabi said, “Unfortunately, the supporters of this phenomenon assumed that by interacting with the West they could solve the economic problems of the country and as a result, they neglected domestic capacities and capabilities.”
