RNA – Speaking at a news conference with the media, Hujjat al-Islam Abbas Rafati-Na’ini, the spokesman for the Centre for the Management of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran, responded to a question from the correspondent of Rasa News Agency on the position of the seminaries and the community of clerics in relation to the current economic problems facing Iran and their advice for government officials, saying, “The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei] repeatedly noted that the government must pursue the strategy of the Resistance Economy, but unfortunately, it was ignored.”
Arguing that the current economic situation is not desirable, the teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom said, “The people are protesting against the existing economic conditions and their protest is right and the Seminary, clergy and officials have been and are currently sympathetic towards the people, especially the deprived classes in society, who are suffering due to problems.”
Referring to the demands of the Seminary and clergy from the country’s politicians, Hujjat al-Islam Rafati-Na’ini stated, “The serious demand from the Seminary and the sources of emulation from the officials of the three branches of government is that they must be attentive in this economic war and the judiciary must deal with the disrupters with determination because dealing with those who disrupt the economy, the coin and currency markets in a weak manner will cause economic corruption.”
His Eminence continued, “In the situation today, currency and coins became commercial goods while they aren’t trading goods. For this reason, one of the serious demands of the Seminary and the clerical community is for the judiciary to deal with the creators of the disturbances in the currency and coin markets in a serious manner.”
He added, “If the executive branch doesn’t pursue the Resistance Economy and pursues an economy based on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), it will cause turmoil in the currency and coinage markets, which won’t benefit anyone except those who are disruptive, who are only a few individuals.”
Hujjat al-Islam Rafati-Na’ini arguing that in the economic war against the enemies, the noble nation of Iran will surely come out of the current conditions, including the most difficult crises, with pride and honour said, “The enemies have understood that they cannot make the people of Iran surrender through the threat of military warfare and even they admit that their threats will lead to greater resistance by the people.”
The spokesman for the Centre for the Management of the Islamic Seminaries, stressed that the officials must be sympathetic towards the people and think about them and added, “The people who have resisted for forty years will continue to resist. In the current situation, in the words of the Supreme Leader, the government must defend, guard and resist and stand against the attacks of the enemies because the people will continue to support their actions by observing the proper activities by the officials and the suitability of their economic programs with the status of the society and the Resistance Economy.”
