RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers in Qom’s Quds Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Seyyed Hashem Hoseyni-Bushehri emphasized the implementation of Islamic justice in society and said, “In Islamic society, there must not be oppression and the oppressor must not oppress others but rather, he must defend the rights of the oppressed.”
Referring to the anniversary of the first Friday prayer after the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the member of the Supreme Council of the Seminary added, “Before the Islamic Revolution, Friday prayers were held in some localities in the country but the glory that we see today didn’t exist. Friday prayers are the true manifestation of religion and politics and are the great cultural centre of Islamic society.”
Noting that today, there are about 1,500 Friday prayer congregations being held throughout Iran, he said, “Friday prayers played a key role in the survival of the Islamic Revolution. During the Iran-Iraq War, despite the existence of threats, the Iranian nation announced that the trench of Friday prayers isn’t emptied in defence of the religion and the Revolution. Friday prayers are the agents of unity and the gathering of the Islamic ummah and the a place of insight and awareness and the centre of invitation to jihad and defence. Congratulations to the courageous and heroic Iranian nation who continues its bind to the Revolution with power.”
Referring to Operation Mersad, the last major military operation of the Iran–Iraq War which ended with United Nations Security Council Resolution 598 on August 8, 1988, Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri said, “The blind-hearted hypocrites, with the complicity of their masters who are today in their lap, saw the conquest of Tehran in their dreams, but they weren’t able to achieve success and suffered a hard defeat at the hands of the Islamic warriors.”
Referring to the visit of a government delegation to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the member of the board of directors of the Assembly of Experts added, “The conditions of today are the cause of concern to all people but we feel tranquility when we sit down with the great helmsman of the Islamic Revolution.”
Referring to the statements of the Supreme Leader, he said, “The Supreme Leader said that the conditions of the country today are serious, but not critical, and there is no impasse in the country. He said that, when the problem arises, a person can act based on a sense of responsibility with greater power and not with a sense of desperation and fatigue.”
Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri added that the Supreme Leader said that authorities must courageously act and speak with people and be with them and added, “Those who are tired and unable to work must leave the scene and leave the field and leave it open for others. The Supreme Leader emphasized that the language of the officials must reach the ears of the officials of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic system of governance. President Hasan Rouhani’s statements that if the [United States] stops oil exports, than others also won’t be able to export oil must be honoured and this must be seen as a sign of the authority of the nation.”
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom stated that the Supreme Leader had said that the politicians must not make conditions for the people and said, “The politicians must not tie up the problems and issues of the country to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the European package and must not act in such a way that if the United States withdraws from the JCPOA, the people feel that they have no more hope.”
His Eminence continued, “The officials must invest in domestic capabilities and must not place the people in a state of waiting and if something happens, the people feel that everything has been eradicated. The people have seen harder than this and stand at the foot of the Islamic Revolution and from now, they will thwart the enemies’ plots.”
Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri said the government must have the necessary nobility over importing and exporting and noted, “The headquarters responsible for combatting the sanctions must work seriously because the enemies formed a headquarters to oversee the sanctions and we must not be thoughtless.”
He added that, in spite of some problems and issues, it was necessary to plan before they occur so that no other problems don’t arise and said, “The people must not protest over the water issues in Khorramshahr, Abadan and Bushehr but rather the authorities must reason and act pre-emptively because the people expect the authorities to accompany them and be sympathetic.”
Ayatollah Hoseyni-Bushehri addressed the politicians, saying, “Take the fight against corruption seriously and discuss the issues with the people because the most loyal people are those who take the Resistance Economy seriously, because if it is implemented, the enemies’ efforts to sanction Iran will be fruitless.”
His Eminence added, “This intelligent and awakened nation is not affected by the enemies’ suggestions and stands firmly against the enemies just as those like Major General Qasem Soleymani speaks against the enemies.”
