RNA – Speaking at a conference on the establishment of the National Wisdom Movement, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, the head of the National Iraqi Alliance, said, “Iraq has reached a good level of stability and unity, which is a good opportunity for foreign investment in this country.”
The senior Iraqi cleric and politician added that instead of being a region of internal disputes, Iraq must be a place for communication between the countries around the world.
He described relations with Iran as strategic and noted, “The many historical, cultural, political, economic, security commonalties and the common border between Iraq and Iran makes the relations between the two countries strategic.”
Hujjat al-Islam al-Hakim stressed that Iraq wants a balance in relations with various countries and the region and will put forth the slogan of positive impartiality in the new era.
The head of National Wisdom Movement invited regional countries such as Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iraq to begin multilateral talks and establish unity in the region, adding that this alliance will contribute to the development of security and stability in the region.
Pointing to recent debates and disputes between the Iraqi Kurdistan Region and the central government, he said, “Iraq’s problems must be resolved through dialogue and respect for the constitution.”
Hujjat al-Islam al-Hakim continued, “The National Wisdom Movement is a national movement that seeks to build the country on the basis of justice, national identity, Islam, social justice and economic progress.”
The head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq stated, “Trusting young people doesn’t mean not paying attention to other professionals, experts and individuals without precedent but the National Wisdom Movement consists of all of these individuals. The activities of this movement aren’t dedicated only to political issues but rather the National Wisdom Movement will enter other arenas, such as culture, and will pursue the education and training of a generation of believers in religious and national values.”
He emphasized the necessity of fighting corruption and said, “We are fighting strongly against any kind of corruption in the National Wisdom Movement and in this regard, we have established an agency under the heading of ‘general inspection.’ All political and governmental officials in the National Wisdom Movement must display their financial statements in a transparent manner in order to disprove any falsification or corruption.”
Hujjat al-Islam al-Hakim said that the main enemy in the post-Daesh era was corruption, adding, “The main priority of the National Wisdom Movement in the new era was economic progress, the improvement of services, increased employment opportunities and welfare of the people, the return of the displaced and the reconstruction of the liberated areas.”
“We want communication and interaction in various fields with all countries of the world, except with the Zionist regime occupying Palestine and the enemies of Iraq,” he added.
Hujjat al-Islam al-Hakim said that in terms of the National Wisdom Movement, the Iraqi government is a strong government that takes into account all the interests of the people and, in accordance with the constitution, takes all people into consideration in an even manner.
