RNA – The Association of Scholars of Jabal Amel has issued a statement issue regarding the martyrdom operation carried out by three Palestinian youths in al-Quds (Jerusalem) which killed two Israeli police officers and wounded three other police officers in a gun battle inside the al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Friday, July 16.

The statement says that this heroic operation occurred when the occupiers increased their offensive actions against the will of the Palestinian people. “The operation proved to the world, especially the traitorous and conspiratorial Arabs, that a Palestinian people will not relinquish even one inch of this holy land,” they wrote.

The Lebanese scholars pointed out that the victory of the Palestinian people is certain, even if it occurs in the far future and said, “The evil American powers and their Arab allies which support the Zionist regime are becoming more and more acquainted with the will and determination of the Palestinian people.”

The Association of Scholars of Jabal Amel added that the Arab governments must rethink their positions and we also urge the Arab people to push these regimes to regain the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people in legitimate ways.

They condemned the closure of the al-Aqsa Mosque and prevention of the holding of Friday prayers and said that these acts of aggression were added to the record of Zionist crimes against humanity and religious sanctities.

The group of Shi’ah clerics offered their condolences to the families of the martyrdom operation in al-Quds and congratulated the Palestinian people and the Islamic ummah for educating such children who are considered as the lights on the path.

On Friday morning, five Palestinians were wounded in the wake of a new hijacking operation near the Bab al-Amoud (Damascus Gate), one of the main entrances to the Old City of the Zionist-occupied holy city of al-Quds, which is near al-Aqsa Mosque.

On Sunday, Israeli forces reopened the al-Aqsa Mosque compound, however, Muslims refused to enter the site in protest at the newly-imposed security measures, including metal detectors and cameras.

Dozens of worshipers held prayers outside the compound, at the entrance near the Bab al-Asbatt (Lions’ Gate) entry to the Old City.
