RNA – Speaking during his jurisprudence class at Qom’s Grand Mosque, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani stressed that Iran’s May 19th presidential and city and village council elections are “very important and effective.”
The revered source of emulation added that the people must participate in the elections with the utmost passion and that it’s necessary that all people participate because the elections are concerned with the fate of the people and thus, they shouldn’t remain indifferent.
“Today, jihad is for the people to be present on the scene and participate in the elections demonstrate that they are interested in the system,” he noted.
He said that every vote is a bullet in the bodies of the enemies and added, “The widespread and enthusiastic participation of the people in the upcoming elections and the glory of the coming elections is a principle and everyone must participate in these elections which are a form of jihad.”
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said the Islamic system of government is based on the culture of the Ahlul-Bayt which is a system of guardianship. Imam Khomeini said that protecting the system is above all other obligations and people must not undermine the system through their conduct and statements.
“The Islamic Revolution has presented many services presented to the people of Iran and much progress has been made in various fields,” he said.
The senior Iranian cleric said that the services provided to the people by the system must be well explained and noted that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Khamenei] also stressed this fact so that everyone knows what has been done and also noted that seminarians must explain these services during their missionary travels.
“In a short period of time, the Islamic Revolution has provided facilities for many villages and from both the political and revolutionary perspectives, many people were saved from tyranny and arrogance,” he stressed.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani pointed to the signing of the UNESCO’s “Education 2030” document by the Hasan Rouhani administration and said, “Throughout history, the West and the enemies have looked at Iran with contempt and added that domination and greed are inherent in the them.”
“With this document, the enemies want to change Islamic culture, education and teachings,” he added.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said that Ayatollah Khamenei has stressed the need to oppose this document, saying, “Unfortunately, some have engaged in treachery and this is a great crime. After the people gave so many martyrs and struggled on behalf of the Islamic Revolution, now they want to implement such a document!”
He added that the Islamic Seminary cannot be indifferent in regard to these things and when the Supreme Leader says the document must not be implemented, the Islamic Seminary cannot oppose such commands.
“The Islamic Seminary must support the system and the Leader. This support must not be in terms of words but rather it must be in regard to action,” Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said.
