RNA – Speaking during his jurisprudence course at Qom’s Grand Mosque, Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi referred to the Saudi war on Yemen and said, “Saudi Arabia’s assault on a funeral ceremony in Yemen which resulted in the murder of 700 innocent people was an unexpected crime committed in front of the international human rights bodies that keep silent regarding such inhumane disasters, if some human rights groups denounced this murder, they have done so by mere words and have overlooked the deep impact of such animosity.”
Saudi assault on Yemen, desperate act of insanity
This Shi’a source of emulation further said such attacks are caused by the Saudis’ desperate acts of insanity and despair, he added, “Saudi are uncertain of their future existence and as a result, these acts of insanity and violence are caused by their despair.”
Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi added, “It has been a year and a half since the beginning of the Saudi war on Yemen and they have carried out so many vicious crimes in Yemen but the Yemenis have grown stronger in their resolve and continue on their path.”
A question for Saudi Arabia
The revered Shi’a scholar then addressed the Saudi rulers and added, “Suppose you could win this war on Yemen and take over the country, would it be possible for you to initiate a government in a country whose citizens you have murdered and destroyed its cities? Would the Yemenis recognize your government? Is there anyone in the right mind who would think so? Why do you continue your strikes?”
“I would say this is nothing but desperate insanity on the part of Saudi Arabia,” Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi asserted.
The renowned exegist of the Holy Quran said, “I hope for a brighter future for the people of Yemen, Bahrain, Syria and Iraq. There is no doubt that the disgraceful Takfiri terrorists and their sponsors such as the United States and United Kingdom will eventually fail. I pray to God Almighty to wipe the earth off these inhumane terrorists and their threats to the Islamic world as well as all humanity.”
