RNA – President Hassan Rouhani thanked the Islamic Seminary of Qom, sources of emulation and Grand Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi-Amoli for supporting the government and said: “The government is doing its utmost to mitigate people’s problems and will continue doing so despite all obstacles.”
President Rouhani met with Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli on Friday and said: “The government’s approach in the current year is to reach a 5% growth in the economy and the Supreme Leader’s supports, harmony among the branches and people’s support have made the conditions favourable in the path of achieving this figure.”
On the government’s efforts in agriculture, President Rouhani also said: “The balance of agricultural products improved $4.7 billion during last two years through increasing exports and decreasing imports.”
He also referred to the latest glorious parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections and said: “Electoral campaigns should contribute to more friendship in serving the society.”
During the meeting, Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli appreciated the government’s efforts in reducing the inflation rate and making economic growth in the country and said: “All efforts should be concentrated on the implementation of the policies of the Resistance Economy in action.”
He added: “Maintaining independence and advancing the policies of the Resistance Economy is not possible through orders, rather it needs effort, resolve, relying on God and seriousness, which of course, the government is doing its best and this should continue.”
Stressing the need for serious fight against all kinds of corruption, Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli said: “By modifying baking regulations and directing resources of the banks based on the standards of Islamic law in helping production and satisfying people’s needs, implementing the policies of Resistance Economy will be possible.”
He added: “By God’s favour, the government has achieved a lot so far and we are praying for every single member of the government for continuation and increase of these achievements.”
