RNA – On the blessed occasions of Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Ghadir, the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, granted amnesty or commutation for the sentences of 2,135 of those convicted in the General and Revolutionary Courts, the Justice Administration of the Armed Forces, and the Government Discretionary Punishments Organization.
In a letter to the Supreme Leader on the occasions of Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Ghadir, the Chief Justice of Iran, Hujjat al-Islam Ebrahim Raeisi, proposed granting amnesty, commutation or a change of punishment for these convicts whose cases had been reviewed and approved by the Amnesty and Commutation Committee. In the implementation of Paragraph 11 of Article 110 of the Constitution, this proposal was accepted by Ayatollah Khamenei.
