President Hassan Rouhani of Iran has penned a letter congratulating Pope Francis on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ and the Gregorian New Year. RNA - President Rouhani expressed “cordial congratulations” on the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ and the Gregorian New Year in his letter to the leader of the Catholic Church on Wednesday.
The Iranian president described Jesus Christ as “the prophet of peace and kindness and the herald of freedom.”
He expressed hope that the prophet’s true followers as well as all other adherents to divine religions act to contribute to the establishment of peace and justice worldwide.
The Iranian president also wished the pontiff well-being and success in his holy duties, and beatitude and prosperity for all the world’s religious devotees.
