US President Donald Trump was "toying with everybody" when he attacked a 2020 candidate over a subject he had previously supported, says the White House counselor.

The president recently attacked former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg for his support of stop-and-frisk but he deleted the tweet soon after footage surfaced showing him in the past do the opposite.

The stop-and-frisk became notorious for targeting African American youths in New York.

In the since-deleted tweet, Trump called the Democratic presidential candidate a "total racist."

“The president is toying with everybody by saying, had he said something like that, everyone would say, ‘Racist, racist, racist,’” Kellyanne Conway told Fox News on Sunday.

She also took the chance to attack Bloomberg over allegations of sexist comments, something Trump is also known for.

“The comments he’s made about women — The Washington Post had to bleep out some of the actual words... That is all fair game,” said Conway, making host Chris Wallace remind her of the “Access Hollywood” tape, in which Trump is heard braging about grabbing women’s genitals.

“Is it fair game for President Trump when he’s made sexist comments too?” Wallace asked.

Conway asserted that Trump's sexist comment “was fully litigated… He won a month later.”

Bloomberg’s bid for the White House has led to reactions from various groups and even officials from the White House.

The former mayor, who is estimated to be worth $54.1 billion, has said he will not accept donations and will fund his campaign on his own.
