RNA - In two separate telephone conversations with Leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Ziyad al-Nakhalah and Political Leader of Islamic Resistance Movement of Hamas Ismail Haniyeh, Zarif categorically condemned the so-called “Deal of the Century”, and voiced Tehran’s strong support for the unanimous stances of the people and leaders of Palestine in opposing Trump's one-sided and prejudiced plot.
The top diplomat called for solidarity and unity among Palestinians and free nations and governments in the world to forge a united and multilateral front against the “Conspiracy of the Century”.
Explaining Iran’s stance in support of Palestinian efforts against Israel, the top diplomat noted the need for the Muslim countries to take widespread action against the US and Israel’s plots.
This was the second conversation of Zarif with leaders of the Palestinian groups during the past week. The minister also talked with president of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday.
Defying international outcry, Trump last Tuesday announced the general provisions of the plan at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his side.
The scheme — which all Palestinian groups have unanimously rejected — largely meets Israel’s demands in the decades-old conflict, while creating a Palestinian state with limited control over its own security and borders.
It enshrines Jerusalem al-Quds as “Israel’s undivided capital” and allows the regime to annex settlements in the occupied West Bank and the Jordan Valley, among other controversial terms.
Palestinian leaders, who severed all ties with Washington in late 2017 after Trump recognized Jerusalem al-Quds as the capital of the Israeli regime, immediately rejected the plan, with President Mahmoud Abbas saying it “belongs to the dustbin of history.”
Thousands of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and besieged Gaza Strip poured out onto the street in immediate condemnation of the plan.
Muslims all across the world have also expressed solidarity with the Palestinian cause and denounced the Trump's proposed plan.
Earlier on Tuesday, top Military Aide to the Iranian Supreme Leader Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi underlined that the so-called 'Deal of the Century' is US President Donald Trump's last stop before full failure against the resistance front.
"The Deal of the Century is Trump's last ditch effort to escape from the big defeat against the resistance front, and as the Greater Middle-East plot faced failure, the Deal of the Century will also fail," Rahim Safavi said, addressing a ceremony in Tehran.
He also blasted certain Arab states for their support for Trump's plot, and lamented, "Leaders of certain Arab countries have accepted it and accompany the US in its policies, while none of the Palestinian groups has endorsed the plot."
Rahim Safavi referred to the remarks by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei that the Zionist regime will not see the next 25 years, and said leaders of certain Arab states who are collaborating with the Zionist regime will be annihilated before the regime.
